Celebrate the maple sugar season with this hand painted flower pot. Turn an old jar into a new masterpiece with a sponge, some paint and a maple leaf!

craft supplies:
a glass or plastic jar small sponge paint & brush
scissors construction paper tape
glue ribbon paper plate

Wash the jar to make sure it is clean.

Cut out some maple leaf shapes from construction paper.
Remember to choose sizes that are appropriate for your jar.

Put tape on the back of the maple leaf shapes and stick them to the jar.

Paint around the shapes by pressing a sponge in paint and then pressing the sponge straight down on and around the shapes.
Do not spread the paint from side to side with the sponge.
Make sure that the edges of the shapes are completely covered with sponged on paint.

Remove the maple leaf shapes from the jar very carefully.
You should see clear maple leaf shapes surrounded by your favorite colour!
